Hey guys, my birthday is coming up, and my loving in-laws-to-be got me a great gift: Barnes and Noble gift card for a whopping 50 bucks! That’s about three books, which is terribly exciting. I already have the three books I’m going to get because I have this running list of books that I will eventually make my way through. Every time I finish one, though, three more add themselves onto the list. So, we’ll see if I ever do make it through my list. I probably never will, and I’m ok with that. I will get:
1. Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri because she is my new favorite author. I devoured her other two in no time at all.
2. Shanghai Girls by Lisa See because I have wanted to get it for quite some time now, and now I can afford it.
3. The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver because it’s Barbara Kingsolver, and she wrote what is possibly my favorite book, The Poisonwood Bible, and another one of my all-time faves, The Bean Trees.
I love gift cards for books! Yay! This will make my 22nd birthday booktastic, which is really how I want everyday of my life to be.
Up next, The Interpreter of Maladies, my exploration of the short story. And after that, Little Bee.
