Day 13: Your favorite writer
Jhumpa Lahiri’s work is more recent to me, but I’ve loved everything she’s written and can’t wait to get my hands on Lowland, her most recent novel. It’s not just her subject matter that speaks to me, but her style is so unique and captivating. I think she’s a brilliant author and her Pulitzer Prize shows that I’m not the only one. She also has a unique ability with both short stories and novels. Short stories used to difficult for me, but her first collection, Interpreter of Maladies, was so satisfying and complete that I gave more short stories a try. She’s just one of the best writers around right now, and her first novel, The Namesake, is what inspired me to blog about books three years ago. I just had such a good experience that I had to share it with fellow readers and this blog was born. Please add her to your reading list. You won’t regret it.
